The purpose of the talk is to reawaken the sense of oneness and closeness between Subud members.
An explanation of the four phases of living which we as Subud members will pass through. Don’t neglect your daily life but also latihan regularly so you can put into practice what you receive. There is no end to the development of the soul. It is a long process. We cannot be sure that the essence within us, the soul, is a soul that is truly human. We possess a life that is not fully our own, through the effects of parents, ancestors and the environment and the influences of the forces below the human level. We have to work to become master of our own being. Don’t go searching for methods etc. other than from the Power of God.
Once your soul is alive and complete you will be able to accept what God gives you. Don’t just move in the latihan feel the content of your movements. You become disappointed because you don’t make use of your latihan.
Pray with total surrender then your teacher will be your own self, the power within you. We have to find our own reality in what we do. We must be able to distinguish between our spiritual needs and our needs in this world.
The issue of ‘mixing’. Our testing may not even be 50% correct. Testing is the language of God.
Bapak was shown all the workings and purpose of the latihan and gave us a frame-work or direction for the growth of Subud. It is the responsibility of the helpers to fill out the frame-work Bapak set up. Make decisions as a group, not as individual helpers. Ibu gives a long explanation about the helper’s role.
By reading Bapak’s talks you will understand the purpose of the latihan, and in turn be able to explain to others who need it. Explain Subud simply. The importance of the different ‘wings’ of Subud. How can we expect others to join Subud if we cannot put ourselves in order or correct ourselves?
