Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo (Bapak), the founder of Subud, was born in Java in 1901 and died there in 1987. In 1924, at Semarang in East Java, he received from Almighty God a way of inner purification and guidance – the latihan kejiwaan (Indonesian for ‘exercise’ or ‘training’) – which, he came to realize, was not something for himself alone, but could be passed on to anyone who wished for it.

These printed volumes of Talks by Ibu Rahayu consist entirely of final translations already published on the Internet. The limitations of the Internet, and the usefulness of having Ibu Rahayu's talks in handy, easy-to-read form, suggested that it is appropriate to start issuing Ibu Rahayu's talks in volumes which, within themselves, are each chronological and complete. In this way, future volumes can be added that complete periods before, during and after the periods covered by the initial books, creating, over time, a full collection of Ibu Rahayu's talks.

This three volume set comprises talks given by Ibu Rahayu as follows: January – June 2002 (12 talks).  August – December 2002 (14 talks) April – June 2004 (14 talks)
